Job Title: Investigation Officer (one year contract)
Salary: $20,740 per month
Entry Requirements: (1) Completed Form 5 with 5 subjects at Grade “E” or above in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (including Chinese Language, English Language (Syllabus B) and Mathematics) or equivalent. For those sitting for HKCEE in 2007 or after, at Level 2 or above for Chinese Language and English Language; (2) A minimum of 8 years’ full-time working experience with good job records, including 2 years at supervisory level. Experience in handling assessment and/or customer services would be an advantage; (3) Independent, self-motivated, able to work under pressure, strong analytical mind and good leadership and inter-personal skills; (4) Good command of both oral and written English and Chinese with effective communication skills; and (5) Skilful in the operation of computer softwares (e.g. MS Word, Excel, etc).
Notes: (1) Applicants must provide supporting documents proving that they have attained the above-mentioned academic qualifications and working experience. Duties: (1) To assess the eligibility of applicants for student financial assistance under the financial assistance schemes administered by the Agency; (2) To perform outdoor investigation/authentication work (including paying home visits to successful applicants); (3) To train and supervise a team of clerical staff in processing applications including checking the application data, data input, issuing/filing of notifications etc.; (4) To investigate complaints; (5) To liaise with schools and other government departments for processing the applications for student financial assistance; and (6) To answer enquiries from the public and schools.
Terms of Appointment: The successful candidate(s) will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for one year.
Fringe Benefits: (1) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently satisfactory standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity payable, when added to the Government’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485), equals 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and (2) 12 days of annual leave whereas rest days, public holidays, maternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
